Gayle Isley is an Iowa girl, born and raised. She and husband George were married in Iowa and raised their four children there - three boys and a girl. Their little hometown with the big-sounding name was Washington, Iowa: population about 7,000. The children are of course all grown now and are spread out all over North America: from Calgary, Alberta to Crystal Beach, Florida, and from Iowa to Colorado.
Gayle and George moved to Grand way back in 2005, directly from Washington, Iowa. She has been serving the Music Club with publicity and the visual arts since 2015. The announcement of her induction into the Music Club Hall of Fame highlighted that Gayle has served the Music Club over the years as Club Photographer and Graphics Designer, and most recently as the Publicity/Marketing Coordinator on the Music Club Board of Directors.
The announcement reminded us that Gayle is involved in every show the Club puts on - from graphic design and the creating of the show programs, to building slide shows for performances, placing promotional materials, running the slide shows, and more. She confesses that her skills are mostly just natural, with very little training.
Gayle has been a member of the Music Club website management team, or worked with the team, tracking and posting the Club’s calendar of events, and more. The announcement of her induction included that: “The number of hours she works supporting our Club’s activities is amazing. She is always saying ‘Yes’ to anybody that asks, even knowing that she will be working overtime to accommodate the request. You can see her at most of our events rooting on our performers from the audience or working the slide show and cameras for our big shows.”
Gayle’s Music Club Hall of Fame plaque is inscribed with: “Thank you for your tireless work in supporting the Grand Music Club. Your contributions have been significant in making our club events a success. You promote our music, actively participate in our programs and care deeply about our members.”
And we care deeply about her! As she leaves the Board, and as she accepts entry into the Music Club Hall of Fame, we are glad to hear her say that she plans to continue supporting the visual tech needs of the Club.
