The Music Club Band Management Committee (Formally known as the Live at Cimarron Committee) Established: Jan 15th 2024
Mission:
To bring more quality live entertainment to our Grand community and increase opportunities for music club bands to perform live while at the same time provide an approval process for sanctioning and managing bands and improving our Music Club’s live music quality brand.
Music Club Board action:
On January 15th 2024 the Music Club Board agreed to establish a three person committee to act as the gatekeeper for approving all sanctioned/sponsored music club bands and managing the booking of those bands into the “Live at Cimarron” and “Live at the Cafe” shows. The committee will consist of at least 2 members but no more than 3 members. One will be the board’s Band/vocal Representative and will act as chair of the committee plus one or two other music club members at large. The approval process along with the committee and band responsibilities are listed below.
Review/approval process for sanctioning Music Club Bands:
- Any band that wants to perform live at the “Live at Cimarron” must be approved and sanctioned by the Music Club Management Committee.
- The Committee may require auditioning or other means of demonstration of proficiency for approval
- Any band's status as sanctioned can be revoked by the committee at any time due to poor performance, failure to make prescheduled performances and behavior deemed detrimental to the music club.
- Bands must notify the Committee Chair if there are any changes in the band’s members. This will require a committee review of the band to approve them to continue as a sanctioned band.
Tiered Venue System
The committee will use a tiered system to designate when a band or group is ready to play. Tiers 1 and 2 involve the Grand Café. This venue allows new groups to play in a friendly atmosphere and can be shared with other groups. Mondays are to be played indoors by the plant wall. If the weather is nice, and CAM grants permission, a band may play outside. Sundays are played outdoors, weather permitting. The Board’s Band Representative will approve and schedule all bands / groups for booking into the Café performances.
Tier 3 : This level requires the committee to approve a group ready to play the Live @ Cimarron ticketed event dates. Newly approved groups may split or share the bill with more seasoned performers, and all groups at this event are asked to encourage new performers to join them as an opening act or guest performer.
The Grand Music Club does not approve the use of drum tracks, drum machines, click tracks or backing tracks of any kind by any of our sanctioned bands for any live performance.
If you are scheduled to play at the Café on a Monday, and wish to play outdoors, please contact the Band/ Vocal Rep, who will contact CAM for permission first.
